Week 1 (30/03/21)
Today was the first week of this module. We were explained about project two by Mr Martin. We were task to watch Zach King's Videos and choose 3 of our favourite to post on the blog. I love Zach King's video from way back; he is creative and funny. Some of his editing cuts and illusion was nearly as real. It was hard to choose but here is my top 3 choices:This one is the classic video of Zach King Illusion. I really love the transition he had of the iPad into a book. it was brilliant! All of the cuts was smooth and the idea behind it was very creative.
This is another Illusion of Zach King by using water. It was satisfying and really clean edited video. Sometimes it's really hard to distinguish each scenes as it all seemed too real.
This was my favourite because Zach King did a collaboration with another of my favourite YouTube ZHC. Together they did an art illusion which was out of my mind. There's this scene where they did an illusion of which one is real and which one is an art and I was skeptical watching the whole videos. I think from what I saw in Zach King's video, planning is definitely important. They have a very high production team and planned out the whole scenes. Another important thing is angle. The shooting angle is really important to do an illusion trick.
Week 3 (13/04/21)
For this week, Mr.Martin told us to find tutorials videos for selected visual effects tricks of Zach king. Most of Zach King's videos have been dissected and remade, which can be found on Youtube. The tutorial breaks down the visual effects step-by-step, so as a new learner we can re-create the visual effects. We build a simple 30 seconds story bases on the selected visual effects clip. The tutorial I found was this one. This one tells behind the scenes for one of the most popular Zach King's illusion which is turning an iPad into a book. As you can see, the idea was when you swipe the screen of the iPad, the action is similar as for when you flip the pages of the book. Using this, we can merge two videos together and creating a jump cut from the iPad to the book.
I found another Zach king video tutorial by FVX studio kola where he record the process of some Zach king's illusion and the behind the scene process of the editing. We could see the most common thing is to use two videos and merge them together to create an illusion. For some part, he also uses mask to cover up unwanted object. My favourite was grabbing an item from the screen which turned into a real life objects.

ProposalDrafts
Mr Martin suggested that I don't need to do a second scenes and I could just do it all in one location instead of going back and forth to other room.
