Logo Applications

This was the first draft and attempts of my logo application. However, Ms Lilian gave me feedbacks on some designs that needs to change. Therefore, I did some rework based on the feedback received

After feedback on my firat draft, this is the result of the rework. as you can see from the picture above, there are certain changes on the letter and envelope which makes my overal visual much more elegant and luxurious.

Collateral

As for my collateral, I though about what would a consumer received if they bought a jewellery. I did a ewellery box, ribbon and bag as my collateral of MYRA. I wanted my design to be simple and elegant therefore; I incorporated my logo as the design of the box and bag. I also use my pattern on the ribbon to break from monotonous design. However, after feedback I had to change certain things.

After my feedback, I change certained things. From the box where the top design are changed to the icon logo instead of whole logo to evoke minimalism. Then, the bag was also changed to a more ribon bag that correlates more to my brand image as it convey a sense of luxury.

After that, Ms Lilian told me to add 2 more collateral because I only did two. Therefore, I did a ribbon which was based on the ribbon used in the box and a sticker.

Digital Presence

For my digital presence I decided on using an instagram platform and an official website. I thought of using instagram for social media because it is one of the most popular app that many other brands are using to showcase their products. This app also convinient to reach people from around the world that helps MYRA to be introudced to wider range of people that has sensitive ears.

For the official website, I though of doing a minimalist design to match my brand identity however, based on Ms Lilian's feedback. My website are too minimalist it portrays a casual mood. Perhaps I should add a hint of luxuriance as my brand should be perceive as high quality.

After Ms Lilian's feedback I changed some of the photography and color used in the mailing section to appear more bold and elegant. I also focused more of the warmer color insetad of cool to evoke sense of luxury.

Environmental Graphics

For my environmental, I remind myself of my brand color to integrate them into my overall store. I also keep in mind the luxury and elegant mood needed fot my store. This were the first draft of the environment. Ms Lilian told me to do more and inlcude more interior image too.

After feedback from Ms Lilian, I did several more of the indoor and outdoor environment. For Indoor, I specifically choses image that inquires branding color of MYRA.

For the outdoor sign i did two. However, from Ms Lilian feedback, she told me to use the sign 1 only as the second one doesn't fits my branding.

Final Outcome

Feedback

Week 9

Specific Feedback: 

Ms Lilian told me to tryout 1 and 4  for my business card. My designs has a clean look and perhaps I should try full logo for letter head and centered. Ms Lillian suggested removing the gold square so that it's not blocky. For invoice the second one has too heavy of gold but it is more minimalistic while invoice 1 is quite good but Ms Lilian liked the second layout more.  I needed more collateral such as interior design and digital presence, but for the one that I already have, Ms Lilian liked it very much.

Week 9

Specific Feedback: 

For letter head, perhaps no need name and used the website vertically. Overall it was already good. Then for name crad, Ms Lilian liked the one on the bottom the most and I should go with that. For invoice, Ms Lilian told me I dont need logo icon on the bottom left. Next, envelope, Ms Lilian liked the first one and suggested of using logo in gold while having a cream background with text might be black. Meanwhile, I could use pattern inside using the gold to beige ( beige into gold). As for packaging, I should change the bag using ribbon handle and use only icon logo. For store, gold on black for first sign and no need second sign. Ms Lilian also told me to be careful about the using of icon and text. Lastly, for website, background needs more classy and it was too casual, I could use more warmer picture and remember my branding of luxurious and elegance.

Reflection

Experience

This project was a continuation of last project. In this project we incorporate our logo and pattern to come alive. This for me was more fun to do as we are applying our design into mockups in which we could see our own design comes alive and I could see how my brand are complete. This experience are truly creating a brand from scratch.

Observation

I observe there are a lot of potential we could do by using our logo and how to incorporate them into merchandise and other promotional elements. I observe from my classmates work that we all have our own unique brand that we apply ourselfs. There are a lot of unique design and logos which was fun to see how others would build their brand and how different their perspective was

Findings

I find myself enhancing my adobe skills in this module especially Indesign. We were encourage to use indesign to design some formatting elements. This may not be a new thing however, it was the first time we design a collateral using indesign where we usually use illustrator. From this projects I could see the correlation of illustrator and indesign.
